Nigerians attack Fashola over N139m project scandal

Follow @davidblawal Following allegations leveled against former governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola having spent N139m on the drilling of two boreholes at the Lagos House, Ikeja, Nigerians took to social platform, Twitter to express themselves. According to a report published by the Lagos state government, the said project was completed by Deux Projects Limited. It would be recalled that Fashola was well respected during his administration as governor of Lagos state, an administration that did not give room for lawlessness. Google launches AndroidOne in Nigeria with MTN, Infinix

AndroidOne was launched on Tuesday at a major announcement by the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ms. Juliet Ehimuan in Lagos, making it the second announcement after the Asian country of India. Ehimuan observed that in the area of entrepreneurship, there are over 10,000 trained developers and entrepreneurs in Nigeria within the past few years and Google desires to engage more. According to her, the technology company is focused on impacting lives in Africa and thus, the launch of AndroidOne, being the cheapest Smartphone version in Africa is an indication. Nigeria's Oyelowo becomes next James Bond

Follow @davidblawal A Nigerian actor has on Thursday emerged as the next James Bond, following long-standing rumours that Idris Elba from Britain is in line to replace the current Bond, Daniel Craig. David Oyelowo , who is also a producer, director, and writer played supporting roles in many movies like Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Middle of Nowhere, Lincoln and many more. He however played Martin Luther King Jr. in the biographical drama film Selma , for which he received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor (Drama). Although Oyelowo's performance will be heard rather than seen – in an audiobook, he is currently considered the official James Bond Craig, who used to act 007, is due to step aside potentially in two movies’ time. APC Scandinavia - NASS Crisis made the party better

Follow @davidblawal Ayoola Lawal, National Coordinator of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Scandinavia has urged Senator Yakubu Dogara, Speaker, House of Representatives and Senator Femi Gbajabiamila, House Majority Leader to sustain the peace and harmony of the party after the crisis that recently rocked the National Assembly. Lawal, who made the call in a statement signed by the National Secretary, Kenneth Oguzie, noted that the resolution is a symbol marking the end of the crisis at the NASS and ‘another testimony that APC is truly committed to dialogue and peaceful resolution of issues’. Men, Babies: Experts speak on who owns a woman's breast

Follow @davidblawal Chief Medical Director (CMD) at the  Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Professor  Wale Oke has advised men to stop competing with their babies to suck the wife’s breasts. Professor Oke made the call on Wednesday  at the World Breastfeeding Week (WBW), organised by LASUTH Community Health Department in conjunction with the hospital’s Pediatrics. The Director, who noted that the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding are many,  enjoined all men to allow their babies enjoy their natural meal. He said: “When a mother breastfeeds her baby, it creates bond between them. It is also a natural family mechanism as mothers cannot get pregnant. Saraki seeks foreign aide against Boko Haram

Follow @davidblawal Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has on Wednesday urged the international community to assist the Federal Government of Nigeria in the effort to defeat. Saraki also called on the international community to assist Nigeria in the rehabilitation of terror ravaged parts of the Northeast. The senate President made the call at separate sessions he had with the German Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Michael Zenner and his Spanish counterpart, Mr. Alfonso Barnudvo Sdbastian De Erice, when the duo visited him in Abuja. According to him, such assistance, would help in bringing relief to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the devastated areas. He lamented the humanitarian situation and extent of destruction in the insurgency ravaged areas, saying the situation required urgent and broad support across the world. Army reaffirms commitments to fight Boko Haram

Follow @davidblawal The Director of Defence Information (DDI), Colonel Rabe Abubakar, has re-affirmed the commitment of the   Nigerian Armed Forces  to ward-off insurgency and other insecurity plaguing the North East and other parts of the country. Colonel Abubakar on Wednesday appealed to the general public to be security conscious, saying that security is everyone’s business and should be treated as such. He also solicited public cooperation with the military and other security agencies by volunteering needed information that  would help in the operations against terror as ‘terrorists are anti-human, anti-development and act in desperation and callous manner’. “Therefore they must be identified, pursued and annihilated in line without Rules of Engagement”.

The President in his congratulatory message wished Obama ‘more great years ahead in health, strength, and service to humanity’. “I can wager that years ahead will be more rewarding for your family, country and humanity. Happy birthday,” he said. The message, which originated from President Buhari’s personal twitter handle,  @ MBuhari , brought back the handle to live after no fewer than 30 days in-activities.
