Shun Prejudice: Deacon John Dara Urges Kwara People

John Dara, former Presidential candidate, National Transformation Party (NTP) has urged the indigenes of Kwara State to make deliberate efforts to avoid prejudices at the poll. Dara pleaded with the people to emulate Americans, who shunned racial prejudices in electing Barak Obama, as the President in a predominantly white society and who turned out to be the first black American President. Thomas Duncan, Ebola Patientin in US is Dead

Thomas Eric Duncan, US Ebola patient Zero who was in an isolation unit of Texas Hospital, has been reported by officials to have died. Thomas Eric Duncan Just like the case of Patrick Sawyer, who brought the deadly virus to Nigeria and later died, Duncan who took the virus over to America has also lost the battle to the virus. But Sawyer, who arrived Nigeria by a passenger airplane, Duncan arrived in Dallas before he became symptomatic and was therefore not contagious during his flights from Liberia to Texas through Brussels and Dulles International Airport . But Sawyer was already symptomatic when he landed in Lagos on July 20. At that point, Sawyer, Nigeria's Patient Zero was contagious and dying.

TUC Advocates for Female President in Ghana

Dr Yaw Baah, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Deputy General Secretary, has disclosed that the Ghana ’s economic problems could be solved if the people could cast their votes for a female president. Dr. Baah speaking at the closing ceremony of a five-day capacity building workshop organised by the TUC for 50 of its staff members from all districts in the Brong Ahafo Region, stressed that if the people want the country to develop, it was necessary to make a woman the president, adding that “corruption will go down if we have many female ministers.” The programme tagged: “Basic Trade Union Education for Women and Youth Union Leaders, Members and Activists,” aimed directly at the youth and women populations.
